There are many recipes for juices and smoothies out there and I am a big fan of having them for a ‘breakfast on the go’ but I’m going to share one of my all time favourite recipes with you. It’s a fantastic ‘Pick me up’ and, although I call it my morning tonic, you can pretty much make it at any time of the day – it’s guaranteed to pep you up! Got a mid-afternoon dip? No problem, knock yourself one of these together and you’ll be raring to go!
Just the tonic for a boost
It’s packed full of the good stuff and is a quick-win health boost: containing the bright orange sunny super-spice Turmeric with it’s anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, mood-boosting properties (amongst so many other things) and ginger with more benefits than I can mention, this stuff packs a zingy punch. It’s my sunshine in a glass and is super hydrating, thanks to the coconut water/water, making it one of your recommended 8 glasses of fluid a day! Hope you enjoy it! Ingredients (Serves 2)
1 Tablespoon Grated Ginger
2 Tablespoons Honey
Juice of 1 Lemon
1/2 Teaspoon Freshly Ground Pepper
1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric
1 Cup of Coconut Water
1 Cup Chilled Water
Ice
Method
Mix all the ingredients together in a jug until the honey dissolves. Place ice in glass and use a tea strainer to pour liquid through – make sure you zap every bit of goodness through it! Slurp the zingy loveliness! Delish!
